The University Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy offers the following diagnostic and therapeutic settings for the elderly:

1. Gerontopsychiatric Outpatient Clinic (Memory Clinic)
2. Inpatient Geriatric Ward (12 specialized treatment places)
3. Gerontopsychiatric Day Clinic (20 treatment places)
4. Caregiver-Group (demented patients)
5. Caregiver-Group (psychiatric diseases other than dementia).

Research focuses on the evaluation of the Geriatric Assessment; evaluation of Geriatric Consultation and Liason; efficacy of different Caregiver-Groups, Autogenic Training, Brain Mapping, subjective theories of ageing. A collaborative project with the Tuebingen PET-Center is in preparation.

The Geriatic Center of The University Clinic of Tuebingen (combining the University Clinics of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Medicine and Neurology, Paul-Lechler Hospital, Rottenburg City Hospital and Clinic for Rehabilitation Bad Sebastiansweiler) is headed by the University Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (temporary head: Dr. H. Wormstall).
